Since the introduction of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the associated Data Protection Act 2018, this raises a number of new issues which need to be considered.  As members of the public, you are entitled to access information which is held on you via a Subject Access Request (Article 12 of the GDPR) and you are also entitled to correct wrong information or to request that information is erased, via the necessary procedures.

If there has been a data breach which has caused distress or had a financial impact, then you are entitled to seek compensation.
